Nina Louise Acrey, age 82, of Little Rock (formerly of Curtis) passed from this life on Friday, October 16, 2020. She was born in Iraan, Texas on October 26, 1937. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. She retired from Henderson State University after 28-1/2 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Acrey of Curtis, parents Nolan and Berna Dean Hawthorn Nixon of Curtis, and sister-in-law, Nancy Nixon of Scottsdale, Arizona. Survivors include one brother, Doug Nixon of Scottsdale, Arizona, two daughters, Debby Allen and husband, Eric of Little Rock, Becky Ploeger and husband, Andrew of Gainesville, Texas, three granddaughters, Hannah Allen of Little Rock, Megan and Emma Ploeger of Gainesville, Texas, two grandsons, Luke Allen of Fort Hood, Texas and Seth Allen of Little Rock, and a number of extended family members.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Franklin officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ruggles-Wilcox. Pallbearers will be Seth Allen, Luke Allen, Jody Acrey, Jeff McNeal, Dean Jones and Chad Newell. Ruggles-Wilcox requires that a mask be worn.
