Lucille Dulin Presley, age 102, of Arkadelphia, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 in Alvin, Texas. She lived in the Springdale community outside of Arkadelphia during her early years. She was married to Odum Presley of Delight, Arkansas who preceded her in death.
After marrying Odum, they lived in Alpine, Prescott and Shreveport; owned and operated gas stations and grocery stores. While living in Arkadelphia, she worked at Oberman's Garment Factory and Sterling's Variety Store. In her later years, she lived in Houston and Alvin, Texas in the homes of her son and daughter.
Lucille loved gardening and always had a garden until about 3 years ago. She also loved to sew and make quilts. She loved music and played piano, gave piano lessons to others and played at church in her earlier years.
She was a devout Christian of the Baptist faith and loved her Savior Jesus Christ and always wanted to glorify him. She was a fine person with high moral standards. Lucille was a member of Baring Cross Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors are one daughter, Doris Presley McGuire of Alvin, Texas; her three children, Sherry Mitchell, Rhonda Pucek and John McGuire; one son, Pharris Presley of Arkadelphia; his two children, Ann Presley of Stoke-on-Trent, England and William Presley of El Dorado; grandchildren of Doris; Michael Mitchell, Maegan Benbrook, Ned Pucek Jr., Elliot Pucek and Ethan Pucek; great-granddaughter, Raegan Benbrook; grandchildren of Pharris; Winston Richards.
Services will be at 11:00 Am Wednesday, October 4th at Baring Cross Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Hardin and Bro. James Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service starting at 10:30 AM at the church.
Memorials may be made to Baring Cross Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
