James Wiley Seale, age 82, of Arkadelphia, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation in Arkadelphia. He was born August 14, 1934 in Dallas County Arkansas to the late James Robert and Mary Ethel Clayton Seale. He graduated from Sparkman High School and attended Ouachita Baptist College where he was involved in the ministerial alliance. He was a member of Third Street Baptist Church.
James was a Baptist minister, millwright, skilled carpenter and a farmer. He served as a pastor at Hollywood Baptist Church and Walnut Street (Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church) in Clark County. He previously served at Portland Baptist Church, New Maysville Baptist Church and Gaston Baptist Church all in Indiana. He also served as president of the Clark County Homebuilders Association.
He enjoyed knife making, building furniture, gardening and sharing Christ with others.
James was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Franklin Seale.
Survivors are his wife of sixty-two years, Velma Marie Conant Seale; two sons, Philip Nelson Seale and wife, Tara of Muncie, Indiana, Stephen Ray Seale and wife, DeLisa of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Sharon Marie Strahan of Muncie, Indiana; seven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, October 15th at Third Street Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Langley and Bro. Greg Lathem officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Phil Seale Jr., Kevin Strahan, Charles Seale, Dusty Seale, James C. Seale, Phil Grace, Hollis Seale, Wallis Seale and Robbie Seale. Honorary pallbearers are members of Andy's Coffee Group.
