Elster Henry Allen of Bismarck, Arkansas, earned his wings to be with the Lord on May 27, 2022. He was born June 2, 1942, the son of the late Desmer and Zella Gardner Allen at Beaton, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hughes Allen of 61 years, two sons, Marty (Gina Baker) Allen, Wendell (Teresa Coats) Allen, three grandsons, Thadeus (Katie Elbe) Allen, Trevor (Beth Lambert) Allen and Samuel Baker Allen, seven great grandchildren, Ericka, Kenneth, Alice, Beatrix, Cedar, Cate and Finn Allen, and one great, great grandson, Sonnie Clark. He is also survived by his sister Diane (Ronnie) Hughes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Elster was a graduate of Bismarck High School and worked for Central Arkansas Telephone Co-op, then retired from Reynolds Metal Company and DeGray State Park. He was a long-time member of DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer and was on the Cemetery Board for many years. He served in the Air National Guard. An avid hunter, fisherman and wood and metal worker, he was well-known for his handyman skills.
Services will be Sunday, May 29th at DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church, beginning with Visitation at 1:00pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00pm with Brother Chris Morrison officiating.
