Dale K. Anthony, 86, of Bismarck passed away on December 2nd peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side.
Dale was born in Bismarck, Arkansas on October 8, 1930 and lived 84 years in this community. He married Mattie Sue Emory on December 23, 1950; they would have been married 66 years in just a few weeks. Mattie Sue was his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. They spent their life working together on the farm and raising their three children.
Farming was Dale's life. He began working on a dairy farm as a teenager and found his life's calling. In the last few years of his life he was no longer able to manage the farm but through the help of a dear friend, Danny Crow, this life he loved continued. Even in his last days he would talk about the work he needed to do on the farm. Few would say they would like to spend their last days working but that is exactly what Dale would have loved.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, William Anthony and Lucy Anthony; brothers Earl Anthony, Ervin Anthony, Delbert Anthony, Chester Anthony, Roy Anthony; sisters Lennie Stark, Bertha Stinnett and Willie Montgomery.
Dale is survived by his wife Mattie Sue Anthony of Arkadelphia; son Bob (June) Anthony of Arkadelphia; daughter Beverly (Steve) Mayfield of Bryant; and daughter Lynn (Greg) Hughes of Bryant; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A celebration service of Dale's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday December 7th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel. Dr. John Small will be officiating with Evan Smith assisting. Burial will follow at New Bismarck Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
