Cora Mae Bell Gordon, age 91, of Lafayette, LA formerly of Arkadelphia, was called home at 10:15 PM, Sunday, December 27, 2020.
Cora was born April 19, 1929 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, where she grew up the second oldest of five siblings. After graduating high school in Arkadelphia, she was employed by Levi-Straus. She later moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, along with her husband and children, where she worked as office manager of A-1 Moving and Storage Company of Lafayette for forty-one years. She retired in 2005. Cora was a member of Northside Baptist Church where she served as Nursery Coordinator for many years.
She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include her two daughters, Alexi Hoffpauir and her husband, Donald and Lisa Vincent and her husband, Bobby; four grandchildren, Amber Vincent Hatley, Ryan Vincent and his wife, Maggie, Alana Hoffpauir and Ashley Hoffpauir Gray and her husband, Shane; four great-grandchildren, Josie Hatley, Jake Vincent, Grant Vincent and Jaleh Stigall; a host of nieces and nephews which she loved as her own.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Alexander “Alex” Gordon; her parents George Gordon and Doris Mae Baker Bell; her siblings, William George “Bill” Bell, Sarah Bell Parnell, Earl Lee Bell, and James Gordon Bell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery in the community of Central, outside Arkadelphia. Rev. Jeremy Bell will officiate the funeral service. Visitation will be 9:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2021 until time of service at the funeral home.
