James T. "Bob" Lambert, age 91, of Bismarck, died Saturday, December 21, 2019.
Born on May 30, 1928, in Point Cedar, the son of George Lambert and Sally Hammock, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lambert, two infant children, Nancy and J.R., his parents, and siblings Lola Lambert, Jasper Lambert, Franklin Lambert, Hobson Lambert, Bill Lambert, Winnie Griffith, and Hazel Ross.
Before retiring he enjoyed working through many careers, traversing states pursuing logging and pipeline work as a young man, and later in life assembling proto-type components for Douglas Aircraft. Through all these jobs, Bob most enjoyed serving as Chief Deputy for the Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Department.
He was a member of Sulphur Springs Lodge #100 Free and Accepted Masons for over 50 years where he was a Past Master of the Lodge, as well as having served as Secretary. Bob was previously appointed a District Deputy Grand Master and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. Bob was a member of Beaton Church and spent years as groundskeeper at the cemetery. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed going hunting and fishing.
Bob loved to tease those around him and with a quick wit he could always draw a laugh. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life for 65 years of marriage and loved her until his last breath. He will be deeply missed as a father, a pappy, a great-grand pappy, a friend, and a brother.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Lamm; grandson, Steven Lamm; granddaughter-in-law Emily Lamm; great grandson James Lamm; Doug Lamm, who he considered a son; sister, Virgie Johnson; and numerous other extended family members and a host of friends.
Services will be held Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Beaton Church in Bismarck with Bro. Rick Collie officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Beaton Cemetery under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, Arkadelphia.
