Cecil Smith age 83, of Arkadelphia, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at his home. He was born November 26, 1935 in Arkadelphia to the late Wiley Columbus and Minnie Elizabeth Langley Smith. Cecil was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
Cecil started working at a young age, doing many different jobs including being a milkman and driving a school bus. He co-owned and operated the John Deere Equipment Dealership in Camden and Monticello. He enjoyed being a farmer in recent years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Smith; two daughters, Karen Smith Moore and husband, Russell of Batesville, AR., Kim Smith and husband, Michael of Sherwood, AR.; one step-daughter, Jennifer Flynn and husband, Tony of East End, AR.; one step-son, James Pierce of Benton; four grandchildren, Matthew Moore of Batesville, Houston Pierce and Max Pierce both of Benton and Ainsley Flynn of East End; one sister, Mary Francis Ligon and husband, Charles of Arkadelphia; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 19th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tommy McMillan, Marvin Smith, Tracy McLelland, David O’Hare, Don Grillo and Rich Joslin. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Neel, Mike Turner, Junior Morrison, Paul Morrison, and members of Tractors of the Past Club.
